Detroit, Michigan in the 80s, auto factories were closing, workers were losing their homes to the banks, families were breaking apart so that one or more of the wage earners could leave town to find work. The government at the time was very interested in decreasing the trade deficit by encouraging business to invest abroad. It did not seem that many businesses were interested in helping workers in this country or to put it in more colloquial terms - no one seemed to care about helping their neighbors next door. A group of concerned volunteers got together to raised money to pay rents, buy food, negotiate with creditors and give advice to those that seemed on their last leg of survival. At that time, no one thought of forming a non profit to accomplish their mission. The only goal was to keep KEEP JOBS in the United States and to provide for misplaced auto workers they were in danger of losing their homes, their income, the futures of their children. The automotive industry was being usurped by products "Made in Asia" not "MADE in AMERICA".

Since those days of turmoil we have not entered into the crisis of natural disasters, civil unrest and Global Pandemics such as Ebola, SARS, MERS and COVID-19. The Foundation has evolved with the World around it. Even though the Primary Mission is to protect the interests of the residents of the United States, we have partnered with the Global Community in these times of crisis and preservation of Humanity.

The Primary Mission of the Foundation and ALL of its components is to help the peoples of the United States of America, FIRST before all others, in all areas of their daily lives including Health, Economic, Education, Justice, Equality, Social Service to name a few of the specific areas.

The Foundation received its Internal Revenue Service tax exempt designation as a 501 (c )(3) charitable, social service and educational non profit organization, retroactively to 1993. Since that humble start the Help USA First Foundation, Inc, has grown to a national non profit whose Mission continues to be to HELP THE USA FIRST.

MISSION

The mission of the Foundation is to promote the helping the citizens of the IN the United States of America, before providing service to those outside. The copyrighted slogans of the Foundation is "HELP USA FIRST!" and "HELP YOUR NEIGHBOR FIRST!" The Foundations bylaws state that the specific objectives and purposes of this Corporation shall be to enhance the economic and social status of persons living in the United States of America.The Board of Directors of the Foundation has expanded its mission to include INTERNATIONAL NEIGHBORS in need of assistance, this effort is to reflect the ?melting pot? history of the United States.

ORGANIZATION

The Foundation is presently divided into several research Institutes and Centers and direct service projects. The Chairman, Executive Staff and Board members are all volunteers.
